Sex, Crosswords and a Jog

worn running shoesSex, cryptic crosswords and a good run could help ward off dementia and other degenerative conditions by stimulating new brain cells, an Australian researcher said Thursday. Perry Bartlett, a professor at the University of Queensland's Brain Institute, said mental and physical exercise helped create and nurture new nerve cells in the brain, keeping it functional and warding off diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Well, this explains the activities of my friends, they're always off jogging or doing the crosswords when I'm not looking. I have got to pick up one of these hobbies. I used to jog every day in college. It was great to be able to go for a run among the redwoods before class, and on especially nice days, I would go running along the beach at sunset. I'll have to load up my MP3 player and go for a run this weekend. I'm no good at crosswords (heck, I can barely get through the crosswords in the local tv guide), so that's out of the question. As for .. we'll, that's topic over a strong cup of coffee.

There's only one activity on the list that I do everyday. I don't own a pair of running shoes, and I have a mild case of dyslexia. - Frank
